About Voloshky

Voloshky of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, have been singing together as a trio since 1991. They have performed for TV, CBC Radio, as well as at most major Ukrainian festivals and events in western Canada and eastern United States. This, their second album, culminates eight years of performing.

Voloshky have appeared on many Ukrainian venues including Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival (Dauphin, MB), Soyyzivka (NY), Verkhovyna Ukrainian Festival (NY), Vesna Festival and Folkfest (Saskatoon, SK), Hopak in the Park (Edmonton, AB), Jasper Park Lodge Malanka (AB), Mosaic Festival (Regina, SK) and many others.

They released their first album “Blossoming” in 1996. Volshky have been featured on the television program “Kontakt” and on CBC radio provincially as well as nationally. Acclaimed as having a “natural blend” of voices, Voloshky were selected by CBC Radio to represent Ukrainian culture in a multicultural concert (Regina, 1998), which as recorded and broadcast nationally on both the English and French CBC networks. Their music has been broadcast on radio in Ukraine in Kyiv and Kharkiv. In this second album, Voloshky present innovative compositions full of enthusiasm and enriched with expertise gained in the last three years of public performing.
