* Marshall Pankiw: Born in Vegreville in 1944 and raised in the New Buchach area. His father bought him first fiddle (Eatons Catalogue) at the age of 8. He was a self-taught player and at 13, with brother Eddie (guitar), he started the band Sparkling Tones that played until late 60’s.  After filling in for many other bands though the years, he was offered to play with Majestic Sound (Ed Stawnichy) for four years. He re-established the Sparkling Tones again in 2004 with his son Dwayne. He has played for over 1,400 events in 34 years, released 3 albums, and is working on a fourth in 2023.
