About
This Choir travelled many miles and made many appearances. Some of these included a half-hour Christmas program on CKSA television in Lloydminster; a Christmas program broadcast of CFCW in Camrose; Elk Island National Park; and guest appearances in Smoky Lake, Bonnyville, Myrnam, Two Hills, Vegreville, Sandy Beach, Willingdon, and Hairy Hill – Kaleland. The Choir is indebted to the support given it by our parish priests – Rev. Father M. Kryschuk, Rev. Father P. Zubritsky, Rev. Father J. Hukoway, and the Very Rev. W. Melnychuk. The preparation for the celebration of Canada’s Centennial (1967) and the 50th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada (1968) were the initiating factors for the organization of this Choir. The Mission Council consisted of the parishes of Vegreville, Two Hills, Myrnam and Willingdom. The three existing choirs under the direction of Mr. Russell Goshko for Vegreville, Mr. Stephen Mulka for Two Hills; and Mr. Anton Lynkowski for Myrnam were combined. Miss Myroslawa Pidruchney was invited to conduct the newly united Choir.
